We recognise that moving into a Residential Home can be a major upheaval. We aim to make the transition as stress-free as possible and, to this end, we recommend prospective Residents, and their family members if they so wish, spend a day at our Home, meet the Residents and staff, stay for lunch and afternoon tea and, above all, ask as many questions as they and their relatives wish. Should an informal visit not be possible our manager will carry out a pre-assessment in the Resident's own home. In this way our detailed pre-admission process means that when a new Resident joins us they can be confident and secure in the knowledge that their care requirements and personal needs will be met from day one.
We have established a valuable working relationship with our neighbours, the Grove Mount medical and dental practices and also with the adjacent Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital and district nursing team. However, mindful of the need for continuity of care we will always ensure Residents continue to see their own GP, dentist and other healthcare professionals.
Underpinning the day-to-day delivery of care is a supportive management committee that works in partnership with the staff to ensure the Home is well run, that the fabric of the building is well maintained, all statutory health and safety measures are implemented and that new facilities and amenities are provided when funds permit.
Grove Mount Residential Home is a Manx-registered charity and the management committee - some of whose members have had relatives who have resided at the Home - work tirelessly with the support of the care team and the local community to raise funds to enhance the comfort and care of the Residents and enable them to live as full a life as they can.
